FAQ

  • Why do we stand out from other computer stores?

H POWER COMPUTING not only wants to build computers, but a relationship with every client. The first step is asking you what your needs are. The second step is designing a system for your specific needs. And most importantly, as part of the relationship, we spend our time educating you about your new system. In order to accomplish this, we request at least 30 minutes of your time to go through your new PC’s features. During this review, we encourage you to ask as many questions as you would like. More significantly, we want you to understand how to maintain your computer’s maximum performance and reliability. Essentially, when you take your computer home, you are comfortable, confident, and informed. —“you are good to go.” We know that buying or even repair a computer is sometimes confusing and fustrating ordeal. We want to take take all those pressures away.

  • What makes us different from other PCs?

This can be a very long and complex answer. But, the quick answers are quality, reliability, compatibility and most importantly service. Since our inception we have been using only name brand components from well-known manufacturers you are familiar with. Unlike other system integrators who use generic components to increase their margin, we at H POWER COMPUTING use only the quality brand names that have been tested over time for their speed and most importantly – reliability. “Raw speed is great, but when it’s broke it don’t go too fast.” Also you get lifetime tech support, as long we’re alive.

  • Do you have 24 hour technical support?

No. While “24 hour technical support” sounds like a wonderful thing, in reality it isn’t. What kind of highly qualified technician has to work the 3 a.m. shift? That’s right…none. More often than not you will always get someone in some foreign country reading you his or her laundry list of possible solutions. That’s why we believe in personal quality service over quantity. We will always assist our clientele on a personal level with information and solutions specific to their machines. We treat every question with our full attention to make the most efficient use of your time.

  • Why are your systems a little more expensive than other computer stores?

We believe that value is much more important than cheap. Sometimes a good value can be confused with inexpensive. We much prefer to build a better machine that costs a little more rather than a cheap machine that may or may not work when you need it. Nothing is fool proof but you would be surprised what a difference a couple of dollars makes.

  • How long does it take to have a system built?

Anything of quality takes more time. Every customer’s order is different, and we handle many specialty part order requests. Our systems are also built the old fashioned way, one at a time by highly trained technicians. We don’t build our systems on assembly lines and test only one out of ten for failures. Each system is hand assembled, checked, tested and re-tested to be the fastest, most reliable PC. This kind of testing takes much more time than setting PCs up for “the quick one time sale”. On the average, we try to get your system built within a week. We are very proud of our systems and our results speak for themselves. See the testimonials for some comments.

  • Do you sell parts?

Yes. We don’t carry the huge selection like the major retailers. We are only concerned with carrying and using the best parts of their kind and since they are actually few and far between our selection is relatively small.

  • Do you perform upgrades and repairs?

Yes, we can upgrade any model desktop and laptop brand. Basic diagnostic is free and done on the spot in about 10 minutes. We also do hard drive data recovery, virus and spyware removal. Please call us for more details on our flat rates and services.

  • Why do you put such a big emphasis on cooling?

A computer is a machine. Just like a car it can produce a great deal of heat. The faster it goes the hotter it runs and just like any machine heat is the enemy. Proper cooling is important to extending the life of any machine. That is why we use cases designed to dissipate heat efficiently and also arrange the components and wiring to allow maximum airflow. These are the kinds of little details that most other system builders choose to ignore. Your new computer is not cheap and we want it to perform for you for a very long time.

  • Are your systems fully upgradable?

Yes. We build our systems with the future in mind. Instead of pigeon holing our clientele with a machine they will have to replace, we build them so that they can be upgraded as technology advances.

  • What are your hours?

Monday – Friday 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Please call us if you need to come after 5:30 PM) Saturday 10:30AM to 3:00 PM. Sundays we are closed.

  • Do you offer on-site tech support?

Yes. Since each on-site support request is different, we request customers call us for a free consultation before hiring us for this service.
